Event Summary
Independent schools have the academic freedom to build bold, cross-disciplinary curricula that teach pupils to challenge assumptions and think critically. As AI and technology reshape education and employment, that freedom has never mattered more.
Westminster Insight’s 3rd annual Independent Schools Conference brings together leaders from across the sector to discover how schools are preparing pupils to thrive in a changing world, and how the sector can adapt, demonstrate value, innovate and lead.
Skills of the future are at the heart of the programme. In an age of AI, pupils need skills that cannot easily be automated: creativity, critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning, resilience, communication and complex problem-solving. We will explore how schools can deliver an agile, future-ready curriculum through a focus on thinking skills, debating, evaluating evidence, testing ideas and redesigning assessment. Gain insight on how pupils can be taught to use AI to their advantage rather than outsource their thinking.
Ambitious, inclusive enrichment programmes extend academic learning and build curiosity, intellectual independence, character and confidence. You will hear how schools are embedding careers and employability within the curriculum, strengthening employer partnerships and helping pupils and families navigate a more diverse range of post-16 and post-18 pathways.
Pupils will learn, work and live in a world where digital fluency is essential. We will showcase digital tools and AI that enhance teaching and learning, deepen engagement and support personalised learning. Schools will share their AI strategies, covering the opportunities and risks, ethical considerations, and approaches to embedding AI in the curriculum.
The sector faces financial pressures, policy reform and heightened public scrutiny, and school working cultures are changing too. Gain insight on how you can prepare the workforce, equipping staff with digital and AI skills, leadership capacity and adaptability. Our strategic panel will address financial resilience, new revenue models, income diversification and partnerships.
Education reform continues at pace, including the forthcoming SEND reforms. We will unpack their impact on the independent sector and the new expectations to support pupils with SEND, to continue delivering excellent, inclusive provision.
Join us to champion the role independent schools play in preparing young people for the future, network with your colleagues and demonstrate the sector’s expertise, outcomes, and wider value, commercially, ethically, and reputationally.
There are a limited number of complimentary places available for Headteachers, Principals, and Senior Leaders from independent schools – apply here.
