Event Summary

The Government has published details of its new Future Homes Standard, a pivotal moment for the UK housing sector. The Future Homes Standard will come into force on 24 March 2027 with a 12-month transitional period.

What matters now is implementation – and this conference comes at a crucial time. Westminster Insight’s Future Homes Standard conference will cut through the complexity and give you the clarity you need to prepare for the FHS.

Chaired by Garry Felgate, CEO, The MCS Foundation, we’ll cover the timelines, requirements and what comes next. Kate O’Neill, Building Design and Construction Policy Director, MHCLG will deliver a keynote address discussing FHS timelines and expectations, and what’s next for regulation.

Discover the long-term benefits of the FHS in a keynote panel session with Alex Baines, Chair, BSI Retrofit Standards Task Group.

Homes England will discuss funding, partnerships, and programmes to accelerate high-quality housing under the FHS. Hear from the Head of Heat Networks Policy at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and Octopus Energy about improving the electricity grid to meet future demand for clean energy.

The Future Homes Hub will address the implementation challenges – delivery, supply chain pressures, procurement, skills gaps, safety – through collaboration and sharing best practice. Discover solutions for scaling up low carbon and energy efficiency with UK Green Buildings Council (UKGBC), The Concrete Centre, and Homes England.

Energy UK will cover the transition to the forthcoming Home Energy Model (HEM) and the next steps for EPC reform – what will the phased approach mean in practice and how can you prepare?

Alongside the FHS, the Government has launched a call for evidence on the best use of the Warm Homes Fund – ÂŁ3.3 billion in total, with ÂŁ600 million to support low-income households. With further details expected later in the year, attend this conference for a timely update.

The future of housing is warmer, smarter, and more sustainable. Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to gain the clarity, expertise, confidence, and connections you need to build the low-carbon homes of tomorrow.
