Professor in Practice and Executive Director
Transition Pathway Initiative Centre, London School of Economics
Carmen Nuzzo leads on setting and delivering the strategy of the TPI Global Climate Transition Centre at the
LSE, as well as overseeing its research and operations. The Centre is the academic partner of TPI, a global
investor initiative, led by asset owners. It offers independent, rigorous research and data on corporate, bank and
sovereign entities to assess their progress in the transition to a low-carbon economy. Carmen is also part of LSE
Global School of Sustainability’s management committee.
Prior to joining the Centre in 2023, Carmen was Head of Fixed Income, at the Principles for Responsible
Investment (PRI), where she was leading the ESG in credit risk and ratings, the sovereign, sub-sovereign, private
and securitised debt workstreams. Since 2014, her primary focus has been on sustainable economics and
finance, building on her long-standing experience in economic and market analysis research, starting in 1993 at
Salomon Brothers, with subsequent roles at Citigroup, ShareAction and Morgan Stanley. She is currently part of
the UK Transition Finance Council and serves as an Observer to the Principles of the International Capital Market
Association.
