The Serious Violence Duty requires the police, local authorities, health bodies, fire and rescue services, and justice organisations to work together to prevent and reduce serious violence. This includes identifying the kinds of serious violence that occur in their area, the causes of that violence, and to prepare and implement a strategy for preventing and reducing serious violence.
