Justin Srivastava is a highly accomplished former UK Police Superintendent with 30 years of experience. After a distinguished career, he transitioned to a consultancy role in November 2024. Since 2016, Justin has worked for the National Police Chiefs Council and the College of Policing, focusing on public health approaches in policing and staff wellbeing. He served as the strategic lead for the National Police Wellbeing Service.
In 2018, Justin co-authored and implemented the national Police and Health Consensus, which developed a framework for addressing vulnerability across the policing and health landscapes.
From 2012 to 2024, he led the development of Trauma Informed Lancashire while working on the Lancashire Violence Reduction Network as their trauma-informed lead. As a result of this cultural shift, over 12,500 front-line practitioners have received training in trauma-informed practice, and more than 20 organisations have achieved the national trauma-informed quality mark.
Justin is a globally recognised expert in trauma-informed policing and organisational development, and a leader in promoting public health approaches to crime and vulnerability prevention. Since leaving policing he has worked with colleagues in Australia, USA, Wales and Canada to assist in the development of trauma informed practice.
Throughout his career, he has worked tirelessly to address violence, promote wellbeing within the police, and champion early intervention strategies. He is a skilled communicator, author, and international speaker, sought after for his expertise in creating safer and healthier communities.
Justin has held senior police leadership roles in both uniformed and detective capacities. He has expertise in working across multi-agency systems, negotiating, and influencing beyond organisational boundaries and authority. Developing and maintaining trusted relationships inside and outside of policing is a key strength
skill. Justin has a strong background in operational policing, including integrated offender management, firearms, public order, and covert/reactive investigations at a senior level. He has served as a PIP 3 Senior Investigating Officer, specialising in child protection and domestic abuse. He has worked extensively in integrated offender management, MAPPA, MARAC, and has undertaken covert operations globally on behalf of the UK National Crime Squad, receiving training in surveillance, covert investigation management, and hostage/negotiation/crimes in action in senior leadership positions.
