Course Summary

Social prescribing can have life changing outcomes, increasing social contact, reducing loneliness and meeting wider health and wellbeing needs.

The NHS Long Term Plan aims for 900,000 people to be referred to social prescribing, with more than £3.6 million of government funding allocated to social prescribing to support wellbeing, including the impact of loneliness.

Westminster Insight’s Social Prescribing Online Training will provide practical guidance on how to build the collaborative relationships necessary to deliver and commission services that improve health and wellbeing in local communities.

We will explore the role of the Link Worker and how they play a pivotal role in building communication channels between multidisciplinary teams.

Take the opportunity to map and identify your local needs and available services, to ensure social prescribing reaches those most in need. Understand how to promote uptake of community-based services and connect people to the right services.

Learn what an effective social prescribing ecosystem can include when collaborating with the wider community including the education sector, fire and rescue services, police, prisons and probation, job centres, social care services, housing associations and voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations.

Explore with the trainer how to intelligently monitor your outcomes and measure impact on people’s health and wellbeing.
