Event Summary

The new Ofsted Inspection Framework is now in force.

With new 5-point grading scales, report cards, monitoring arrangements and a renewed focus on inclusion, join Westminster Insight’s School Inspections Conference to gain valuable insights and practical guidance to help your school prepare for its next inspection.

You will hear about the new inspection reality directly from school leaders involved in pilot inspections. What can you expect at each stage of the process – from the planning call, through onsite inspection activities, to grading and the final feedback meeting? We will explore the operational pressures of the new model, with reflections on how to navigate an inspection without deep dives.

You will hear from former HMI Inspectors about the key changes in the New Ofsted Inspection Framework and Toolkit, including the new six core evaluation areas, report cards, and the 5-point grading system. Discover the latest monitoring inspections and practical steps to accelerate progress.

At the heart of the new framework is a specific focus on inclusion.  How a school meets the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged learners now plays a central role in inspection. This raises an important question: what does “inclusion” look like under the new framework, and what practical steps can schools take to define and evidence it?

Under the new inspection framework, the role of data has changed. It is no longer the starting point or the driver of inspection judgements. Instead, data is used proportionately and contextually, alongside a wider range of evidence. The new Inspection Data Summary Report (IDSR) provides inspectors with a summary and analysis of school data to support inspection preparation. This session explores what has changed and how schools can collect, interpret, and use data in ways that accurately reflect their provision and context.

With ongoing concerns around well-being under the new inspection framework, we will hear from a panel of experts learn about strategies to manage teacher well-being and workload in schools. We will discuss the impact of the new inspection model on teachers, and recommendations going forward.

Under the new safeguarding evaluation criteria, schools receive a judgement of ‘met’ or ‘not met’. Gain insights on how to demonstrate statutory compliance and best practice, ensuring safeguarding is robust, well-evidenced, and integral to leadership practice. We will explore how schools should respond if safeguarding concerns are raised during inspection.

Whether you are a primary, secondary or alternative provision setting, don’t miss this opportunity to network with peers and learn from experiences of the new inspection process.
