Event Summary

All secondary schools, colleges and ITPs should have adopted the updated Gatsby Benchmarks to shape their careers programme.

This half-day workshop will focus on practical and actionable lessons for careers leaders and senior teams in secondary schools, training organisations, and colleges.

Led by Tristram Hooley, who was a specialist adviser to the House of Commons Education Committee inquiry into career guidance, and with contributions from the Careers and Enterprise Company and the Gatsby Foundation, attend this interactive workshop to hear how to overcome common challenges, build engagement with teachers, students and parents, and offer tailored and personalised careers support. Hear examples of impressive practice, identifying what works well and areas for improvement.

The Education Inspection Framework includes careers guidance as part of personal development. Find out how Ofsted will inspect career guidance and upcoming changes as part of the new report card.

Take away best practice insights for effective careers leadership, with evidence showing that good career guidance not only helps students make more informed choices, but also improves outcomes across the board – including pupil attendance, behaviour, attainment, inclusion, and wellbeing.

Take this opportunity to refresh your knowledge of the Gatsby Benchmarks and ensure every learner benefits from the very best careers guidance in your school or setting.
