Patrick Green is the Chief Executive Officer of The Ben Kinsella Trust and a nationally recognised leader in violence prevention. Under his leadership, the Trust has grown from a small Islington-based charity into one of the UK’s leading anti-knife crime organisations, delivering impactful education and prevention programmes that reach thousands of young people each year.

A strong advocate for addressing the root causes of knife crime, Patrick has consistently championed early intervention, prevention, and a public health approach to reducing violence. His expertise has been recognised at the highest levels of government. In 2018, he served on the Serious Violence Taskforce, established by Home Secretary Amber Rudd to oversee the implementation of the Government’s Serious Violence Strategy. In 2024, he became a member of the Coalition to Tackle Knife Crime, established by Prime Minister Keir Starmer to support the Government’s ambition to halve knife crime.

Through his leadership, policy influence, and commitment to prevention, Patrick continues to play a key role in shaping the national response to serious youth violence and creating safer futures for young people.

Eleanor Baggaley is a senior UK Home Office leader with extensive experience across crime prevention, knife crime policy, drugs legislation, and international serious and organised crime. Before her current role, she led Home Office programmes addressing serious violence, developing new cross‑government approaches to knife crime prevention and community safety.

Eleanor holds an MSc in the Anthropology of Politics, Violence and Crime from UCL. 

Stephen Clayman is a Commander with the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) and the national lead for tackling knife related crime, working closely with law enforcement and partners across England & Wales, along with the Home Office.

He coordinates this work through the National Knife Crime Working Group and since April 2026, the new National Knife Crime Centre which he leads, and is looking to deliver the remaining recommendations arising out of his 2024 end-to-end review of online knife sales.

He is the current Gold Commander and lead for Operation Olympos (Post Office Horizon criminal investigation), which is now set up on a national basis given its scope and impact, with four regional teams across England & Wales.

His most recent role is within the Professionalism Command, as a regular Chair in police misconduct hearings. Prior to that, he was Commander for Central Specialist Crime, which tackles Serious & Organised Crime, complex and high-profile investigations, cold case homicide and the Met’s Flying Squad. As a Senior Responsible Officer, he has also successfully delivered a number of IT-related projects into the MPS.

Stephen has spent most of his 30-year career as a detective, undertaking senior roles across local policing and specialist crime, including a number of years as a Senior Investigating Officer with the Met’s Specialist Crime Homicide Command and Trident Gang Command, managing both reactive and covert syndicates across London, tackling gang and gun crime. He graduated from the Strategic Command Course in 2021.

He spent a period of time working on workforce modernisation and introduced the first direct entry detective pathway in 2017.

In 2019, as Chief Supt and lead for the East Area Basic Command Unit (BCU), he was responsible for delivering local policing services across Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge boroughs in the east of London.

In 2009, he graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Master’s degree in Applied Criminology & Police Management, where he subsequently published his research findings on reluctant witnesses.

He is also a fellow of both the Forward Institute Programme and Westminster Abbey Institute.

Faron Alex Paul has been collecting knives and firearms as part of an amnesty since 2019. Hear about the relationship he has built with the London Metropolitan Police, the importance of community driven work to tackle serious youth violence, and what else needs to be done. Faron himself knows first-hand how dangerous youth violence is and has shown that community driven efforts to tackle serious violence can have a long-running impact on community safety.

Mace Hoque is the Young Futures Programme Manager at Tower Hamlets Council, where he leads strategic initiatives to improve outcomes for children and young people, with a strong focus on prevention, early intervention, and community resilience.

Mace brings extensive leadership experience across safeguarding, community safety and children’s services. He previously served as Head of Prevent, Hate Crime and Protect, overseeing multi-agency approaches to counter extremism, tackle hate crime, and strengthen protections for vulnerable communities. During this time, he represented the Home Office at both national and international levels, including as a speaker at the British Embassy in Berlin, contributing to cross-government collaboration and engagement with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

Earlier in his career, Mace was Head of Services for Early Start Children’s Services, where he led integrated early years provision and delivered impactful early intervention programmes to support children and families.

In addition, Mace works in partnership with UNESCO, SOAS University and the Global Language Coalition, and is a passionate advocate for the preservation and revival of the Sylheti language, promoting cultural identity and linguistic inclusion within communities.

With a strong track record of partnership working, Mace is committed to tackling inequalities, influencing policy, and building safer, more inclusive communities.

Gary has more than 20 years’ experience of developing crime reduction strategies and initiatives at both a local government and London regional level, including working directly with communities and individuals impacted by violence and exploitation. In this time, working in Community Safety with different local Authorities at Head of Service, Assistant Director and Director roles, Gary has driven and supported the development of statutory services and community and voluntary group collaboration, to come together to codesign local responses to crime, whilst also representing London Local Authorities on regional programmes and pilots that have focused on ASB, violence, organised crime and counter terrorism.

For the past 2 years, as Head of Community Safety and Prevention at London’s Violence reduction Unit, Gary has supported London Local Authorities, community and voluntary groups, Met Police, London Fire Brigade, the Youth Justice Board, the NHS and other key stakeholders to ensure that government policy to prevent, reduce and tackle violence is translated, developed and delivered consistently across London.

Professor Simon Moore has spent two decades working out what actually stops violence, and making sure it happens. As Director of Cardiff University’s Violence Research Group, he has helped transform how the NHS responds when violence walks through the emergency department door, driving the rollout of hospital-based violence prevention teams that catch people at their most vulnerable moment, when they’re most open to change, and steer them towards help before the next incident. He built the National Violence Surveillance Programme, tracking violence trends across the UK since 2006 and giving police, hospitals and policymakers a shared, trustworthy picture of what’s really happening on the ground. His work has shaped national policy and been drawn on by the World Health Organization, the United Nations and NICE. In 2026 he received the NIHR Research Team Impact Prize, awarded for research that changes lives, not just adds to the literature.

Daniel Morris serves as the Assistant Director for Young People & Families at Catch22, bringing over 20 years of experience advocating for children and young people, particularly within underserved communities. He has successfully led initiatives such as a Pan-London Harmful Sexual Behaviour programme and contributed to the design of services for national charities addressing homicide, domestic abuse, and peer support. Currently, Daniel oversees Catch22 National County Lines and Exploitation services on a nationwide scale.

Katya Moran is a Director of the Youth Justice Legal Centre (YJLC), the centre of excellence and innovation in youth justice law in England and Wales. A specialist youth justice lawyer, Katya works to improve outcomes and experiences for children and young people who come into contact with the criminal legal system. Through YJLC, she supports professionals across the sector by delivering training, providing expert legal advice and consultancy through a national advice line, and developing practical resources that promote best practice in youth justice. Katya is particularly interested in how professionals can better protect children from harm caused by the system itself, promoting diversion, procedural justice, rehabilitation and approaches that reduce reoffending.
