Hugh Wilson is Professor of Marketing and Sustainability at Warwick Business School. After degrees in mathematics at Oxford and computer science at Cambridge, he spent some years in management roles with IBM, Xerox, and NCR. He now researches and teaches on sustainability in marketing, innovation, entrepreneurship, and policy. Currently, his main research strands are how to engender sustainable customer behaviour (with Unilever and Neste among others), and the role of cross-sector collaborations in engendering system change. Policy roles have included advising the EU on policy for sustainable entrepreneurship, and working with the UK’s Cabinet Office on public sector transformation. As co-chair of Warwick’s sustainability working group, he aims to transform his school into a sustainable organisation across its teaching, research, and operations.

Bruno Gardner is Head of Climate Change and Nature at Standard Life, one of the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement businesses. He is also Chair of the UKSIF Policy Committee and a member of the UK Transition Finance Council. Bruno has spent the majority of his career working on climate change, sustainability and energy topics in strategic and commercial roles with organisations including the Carbon Trust and McKinsey. He
oversaw the publication of Phoenix’s inaugural Net Zero Transition Plan and leads their programme of thought leadership to drive the wider system change needed to deliver net zero.

Hannah is an experienced advisor and former leader of the UK’s Bankers for Net Zero initiative, where she worked at the intersection of financial services, policy, and the real economy to drive climate action. She now advises a range of not-for-profit organisations and commercial financial institutions on sustainability strategy, with a particular focus on SMEs. Her work centres on enabling SMEs to unlock the commercial and climate benefits of the energy transition, working through banking and corporate ecosystems to deliver scalable impact. She is a recognised speaker and moderator, known for translating complex topics into practical, action-oriented insights.

David has worked in sustainability for 20+ years. He is responsible for strategic initiatives and partnerships across LSEG group divisions, having previously led sustainable investment for FTSE Russell, and headed sustainable finance for LSEG’s Data & Analytics division. David has held a variety of industry positions, including the European Commission’s High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance, co-Chaired Transition Plan Taskforce sectoral guidance, and is on the UK Sustainability Disclosure Technical Advisory Committee & was a member of the Transition Finance Market Review.

Mark Manning is an independent advisor on sustainable finance. He works with a number of organisations across policy, academia and civil society, with a focus on transition planning, system change, sustainability reporting and sustainable investment. Among his engagements, Mark works with the London School of Economics and Political Science (Centre for Economic Transition Expertise), the IFRS Foundation, the World Bank, Chapter Zero, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and the International Organization for Standardization. Mark spent much of his prior career working in the official sector, holding various senior policy and research roles in central banking and securities regulation in London and Sydney – with the Bank of England, the Reserve Bank of Australia and the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority.

Dr. Jane Thostrup Jagd is the Director of Net Zero Finance at the We Mean Business Coalition. She is also a member of several technical working groups, including the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) Corporate Reporting ISC Consultative Working Group, Accountancy Europe’s Sustainability Reporting Standards Working Party, the ISSB Capacity Building Partner Network, and the GHG Protocol Technical Working Group.

With 30 years of experience in large, listed companies, Jane has developed a deep understanding of corporate considerations. She is dedicated to improving the quality and reliability of financial and non-financial reporting, ensuring that investors have better access to relevant data. By facilitating this process, she helps direct capital toward the most effective corporate solutions.

Ian O’Donnell is Deputy Chair of UK Policy for Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), a business owner and non-executive director who’s excited by and loves sharing ways that creative thinking and new technology can help businesses succeed. A business owner since school days (Real Point – a design & marketing agency) he now also serves as a non-exec for other SMEs as well as volunteering with the FSB where he also leads on Net Zero, working with leading decision makers to develop policy solutions for a better environment for SMEs to thrive. Outside of work he’s a keen runner and cyclist and an advocate of active travel.

As ICAEW’s Head of Corporate Reporting Strategy, Sally oversees the development of ICAEW policy on UK GAAP, IFRS Accounting Standards, UK regulations for company accounts and non-financial reporting, including sustainability reporting. Most recently, this involved leading ICAEW’s responses to the UK Government’s three consultations on UK Sustainability Reporting Standards, transition plan requirements and oversight of a sustainability assurance regime. She also leads the delivery of corporate reporting content to ICAEW members and faculty subscribers. Having trained with Deloitte, Sally specialised in corporate reporting as a tutor with Kaplan Financial before joining ICAEW in 2017.
