Event Summary
2025 has been a defining year for women’s sport – from the Lionesses’ historic second Euro win to record-breaking crowds at the Women’s Rugby World Cup. Now is the time to harness this momentum, drive change, and take women’s sport to the next level.
Join Westminster Insight’s fourth annual Equal Access to Sport for Women and Girls Conference to hear from leading voices across sport, government, research and education, on how to ensure every woman and girl has access to high-quality sporting opportunities.
Chaired by Stephanie Hilborne OBE, Chief Executive of Women in Sport, this conference will explore the impact of major new initiatives such as the creation of the Women’s Sport Taskforce, investment in international women’s sporting events, additional grassroots funding, and new Government plans for school sport.
As women’s athletic performance continues to rise, we will examine how coaches, clubs, and governing bodies can strengthen safeguarding, prevent discrimination, and tackle racism, misogyny, and online abuse.
We will address one of the biggest challenges: girls’ participation in sport. With 24% fewer girls than boys playing team sports in England, and many disengaging during puberty, how can schools, clubs, and local partners close the enjoyment gap and ensure girls can access high-quality sporting opportunities? We will explore the progress of new initiatives such as School Sport Partnerships and an Enrichment Framework, designed to guarantee equal access to sport and extracurricular activities for all young people.
We will share practical insights, case studies, and innovative approaches to engage women and girls of all ages. Don’t miss this opportunity to network and play your part in shaping the future of equal access to sport.
