Event Summary
At Westminster Insight’s popular Apprenticeships and Skills Conference, you will receive updated guidance and practical information about the reforms to the apprenticeships system in England.
From April 2026, the reformed Growth & Skills Levy will introduce more flexible training options, modular apprenticeship units, foundation apprenticeships, and shorter apprenticeships, where appropriate. Changes to funding rules for 2026 – 2027 are expected to include the removal of the 10% levy top‑up, reduction of the levy expiry window to 12 months, and a lower government co-investment rate. SMEs will receive fully funded training for 16–24-year-old apprentices, with employer contributions removed entirely.
The assessment model will also be reformed, with Skills England aiming to refresh and review all standards by August 2026.
Fast-track apprenticeships are being introduced to accelerate the approval of new, specialised apprenticeship standards from 18 months to as little as three months, in priority sectors such as clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and defence.
The conference will explain the 2026 changes and what they mean for employers, learners, and skills providers.
The Government recently announced a ÂŁ725 million reform package to create 50,000 apprenticeships and foundation apprenticeships over the next three years. We will hear from employers and FE leaders who are pioneering programmes in construction, manufacturing, health and social care, engineering, and digital.
With the Department for Education set to review and update all 700+ apprenticeship standards by August 2026, gain early insight into new Apprenticeship Assessment Plans (AAPs). We will explore how all stakeholders can work together for a smooth rollout of AAPs and transition away from End Point Assessments (EPA).
Don’t miss this opportunity to gain practical insight and strategic guidance on the next steps for apprenticeships. Explore what the reforms mean in practice and ensure your organisation is fully prepared for the changes ahead.
